Welcome to the “Sustainable Test Automation” training: Sogeti's vision on test automation. This workshop is all about discussion and interaction with your peers to gain knowledge on the key topics within sustainable test automation (STA).

After completing this training, you will be able to:

  • Understand the various relevant topics for successful test automation
  • Apply the knowledge on the STA topics in your daily work
  • Explain the topics to your colleagues and have meaningful discussions about them
  • Network with colleagues and learn about their experiences

Are you ready to take your knowledge and skills in test automation to the next level? Then register now for the “Sustainable Test Automation” training and become an expert in sustainable test automation!

We look forward to welcoming you and to work together on building a successful future in test automation!

What will you learn?

During this training the following topics will be covered:

  • Determining the value of automated testing
  • The six main topics of test automation:
    • What to automate
    • How to automate
    • How to interact
    • How to deal with dependencies
    • How to execute
    • How to deal with feedback

What are you going to do?

You will use your current practical experience as a background for the exercises, so you will get useful feedback from the trainers and the other participants.

The training consists of two parts, with two weeks in between.

Day 1:

In the first part, we dive into the STA topics in small groups. The goal is to identify sub-questions for each main topic, which help people dive deeper into each topic. After each round of discussion, we report back to the group. In this way, we collect a series of questions on all topics, which form the basis for the assignment between both training parts.

Between parts: In the two weeks between parts, each participant answers a number of questions for the assignment they are currently working on. The answers will be taken to the second part.

Day 2:

The second part starts with several participants giving feedback on their answers. The trainers give feedback and complete the answers, so everyone learns from each other. During these discussions, anti-patterns emerge, which form the basis for the final part: discussing anti-patterns in test automation. The trainers discuss these with the group and learn how these patterns arise, what causes them and, most importantly, how they can be solved.

Who is this training suitable for?

This training is intended for people who:

  • Have at least 1 year of practical test automation experience
  • Work as an Automation Engineer in the field (there is another training for testers and test managers)
  • Have knowledge of at least one tool or programming language with which they have applied automation at an organization (working with an automation engineer on the team is not sufficient)
  • Have the ambition to increase their understanding of automation and expand their current knowledge

What prior knowledge do you need?

  • At least 1 year of practical experience in the field of test automation
  • Knowledge of at least one tool or programming language, with which you have applied automation at an organization (working with an automation engineer in the team is not sufficient)
